Details of journey

When he went to Antarctica he saw an amazing view with lots of animals and nature, so they decided to build there hut there. It took a while about 5 weeks exept when they finished they were so happy. Afer a week or two they finally resized that they built there hut in the coldest place on earth. There were snowstorms and conditions with the weather. Then hey finally started the journey. Three men went out into the snow alone to claim a heap of land for Australa. The three men were sir Douglas Masson, mertz and ninnies.ninnis was carrieng all the food in a big sledg while the others had the tent and the supplies.when they travelled about a kilometre Douglas and Mertz realised that ninnies wasn't behind them. They walked and walked until they found him. Then they finally found a crevasse. So they put down a rope and called and called exept know one answered, so they gave up. They kept on walking. They got starving and starvinger every time they moved. They finally had to eat the dogs. Mertz was a vegetarian so he did not like to eat the dogs. They did not realiz that the dogs had poison in them till later. There skin started to peal and they hardly had any cream to help their skin. So they pulled it themselves. Mertz was really starting to get decease and struggle to walk. He could not even get in and out of his sleeping bag. One night Douglas tucked mertz in and he was shaking a lot. A few hours later Douglas woke up and realised that mertz froze to death. He berried him in the ice and buit a cross for a grave and kept on travelling. He traveled without any food and anyone. He was so close to the base that he saw the boat leave back because the other men waited a year for them and thought they did, but 6 men stayed at base. Douglas was so frustrated. Then in the distance he found something. It was a bag filled with oranges that the 6 men put down. He ate and ate to keep him alive. Then 2 days later he reached base. They were so happy to see Escher but had to wait another year for the boat to come back.
